Like as shown on the XY axis of the diagram, this leadership style uses situational leadership style based on the levels of directive behavior and supportive behavior. This Leadership Style Diagram was developed by Hersey and Blanchard.
The ‘task maturity’ of the people they are leading – That is, how competent a person or team is at the task at hand. The Situational leadership model represents four quadrants. Each quadrant denotes a different leadership style. The diagram can be seen below:
The Hersey-Blanchard Situational Leadership Theory was created by Dr Paul Hersey, a professor and author of “The Situational Leader,” and Ken Blanchard, author of the best selling “The One-Minute Manager,” among others.
