RACI Explained

Definitions of the RACI Categories. Responsible: person who performs an activity or does the work. Accountable: person who is ultimately accountable and has Yes/No/Veto. Consulted: person that needs to feedback and contribute to the activity.

It’s imperative to understand each of these before creating a RACI matrix. A role that is “Responsible” for completing the task or deliverable. If the responsibility role, for example, is technical writer, the technical writer may be responsible for writing online help files.
